Joel Cavasso, one of Oahu’s leading luxury realtors,  hosted his Presidential client, Barack Obama and family.  The Obama’s stayed in a beach homes currently featured in Luxury Home Magazine.  Barack and Michelle Obama met Joel and his wife Maryanne two years ago when the Obama's visited the islands. During their stay the Cavasso's had the Obama family over to their home in Lanikai.  Kailua holds a special place in President Obama's heart as he and his grandfather used to swim at Kailua and Lanikai Beach when he was growing up.  Joel and his wife Maryanne very much enjoyed the company of such an affable couple. On President Obama’s December trip, the Obama family and friends stayed in the Plantation, Bali and Castle Houses located at the end of white sand Kailua Beach.  The day after Christmas, while the island was dealing with the blackout, Joel brought them lanterns, candles and a generator.  Joel Cavasso mentioned “President Obama and his wife Michelle, are two of the most gracious people with so much aloha. The Obama family and friends had a wonderful rest before his return to the mainland to prepare for the Inauguration”
